Landscape Fabric Tips

Landscape fabric creates a barrier to help prevent weed growth and soil erosion while allowing air and water to reach the soil. We supply a woven, commercial-grade product that works well for a variety of landscaping projects. Landscape fabric is only available by the roll.

We recommend using landscape fabric for:

  • Rock installations
  • Bark nugget installations
  • Playground or sandbox construction
  • An underlay for pond liner used in water features (6 oz minimum)
  • Retaining walls or other landscape construction
  • For slopes and drainage applications where erosion control is necessary

NOTE! It is important to install fabric from edge to edge whenever possible as invasive plants can send roots a long distance.

Not Recommended for Mulch Installations

We DO NOT recommend the use of landscape fabric with mulch installations. The fabric prevents the mulch from adhering to the soil and staying in place. It also reduces the beneficial decomposition process that is required for mulch to release nutrients into the soil.
